Paper Flower Tutorial.. and paint chip bunting :)

Thanks so much for the comments everyone :) I'm new to the whole blog world so I really appreciate it!

Anyway, I made some cute paper flowers. I went to Ross and they had a 300 multicolor pack of cardstock, so I had to use it for something!

So, materials needed include...
Scissors,
Green tape (Floral tape, duct tape, or painters tape if that's what you have :D)
Hot glue or craft glue
Colored cardstock
For the 'stems' I tried 3 methods, first was copper wire (pink) second was a chopstick (Purple) and third was a bamboo skewer (blue) So whatever you have :)

Step 1 - Turn your skewer/stem green with tape!

Step 2 - fold your card stock lengthwise about 1 inch and cut petal shapes. ( I'm sure that's the technical term.)

Step 3 start folding the petals around each other, the first one just wrap around a pencil and glue. Then add leaves diagonally, looking at the top of the flower to fill in spaces.
Keep folding the paper around and around..
Until eventually.. you end up with something like...
Then glue the stem to the bud.. and you get

I thought they came out pretty cute!

I also browsed the blog world and saw someone do a bunting across their monitor, and I found some paint chips organizing today...

(I am starting to hate my pepto bismol walls.. covering them with a bunch of stuff haha)

Okay.. i'm done with pictures. I will probably post tomorrow some of the neat stuff I got from yard sales. Thanks for reading!

Free Printable

Well, here is my first attempt at a free printable.. Please let me know what you think! All I did was scan a doodle onto my computer and tried to define the colors a bit. All I have is Paint Ship Pro 7 so I know its not exactly the best.. but it was a cute idea in my head at least! If you like it, hate it, or have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!

Cute Printable turned into Framed art

I have been working on a lot of projects lately, I have just been feeling inspired and I absolutely love it! I frequent a wonderful website, called oneprettything, and there are a bunch of great crafts, printables, seasonal ideas, etc.. that are just so creative.

Any who, I was browsing the blogs older posts and came a cross this lovely printable over at http://indiefixx.com amd I just thought it was the cutest thing. I printed it out, only to realize I had no way of hanging it up or making it snazzy. (Most of my craft supplies are lots that I buy at garage sales, thrift stores and the like.)

So, I went to Michael's and found these plastic document holder/display thingies. I figured they would work well, because I figured they can be pretty customizable compared to the other choices, especially considering this pack was $10 and a single regular frame was like $7-$8. So, yipee!

I found some cute looking scrapbook paper I had that matched the color scheme, and cut out a boarder about 3/4th of an inch thick, with one side being an inch to hide the little hole punches.(And yeah, I know the paper isn't quite right in this picture, it was before I glued it on.)

After that I embellished the 'frame' with a couple of flowers I cut out from some scrap paper, and added a cute pearlescent button in the middle of them.

Soo.. Ta-Da! Overall, I spent $1 on this, all other materials I had on hand. Now to find somewhere to hang it.. And yeah.. my room is pepto-bismol pink, makes for awkward lighting when taking pictures! Thanks for bearing with my on my first blog-ish post. Some other craftyness I will be posting about includes 3 picture frames repainted & pretty cards in them, and my daily journal prompt box. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading!
